I’ve lived in York for a while now and kept saying I would get a York card. Well, the other day I finally went to get one and it was so easy I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner. Not that I’ve actually used it yet, but if I want to go on a spur of the moment trip to York Dungeons or Yorkshire Museum well now I’m set!
The card is for York residents and, as well as acting as a York library card, it gives you discounts to a range of great York activities including sports centres and attractions.
The discounted attractions include:
- York Sport
- Castle Museum
- Yorkshire Museum
- Yearsley Swimming Pool
- Jorvik Viking Centre
- Barley Hall
- Micklegate Bar Museum
- York’s Chocolate Story
- The York Dungeon
The discounts vary from ok to great with free entry to Yorkshire Museum and Castle Museum and a 90p saving at Energise and York Sport, still, if you go a lot the savings would soon mount up.
The process to get a York card was easy simply fill in the online form, pop into a library branch, pay your £3 and you’re good to go.
We’ll be using our York cards to try out all the places we always meant to visit but haven’t for one reason or another. We’ll let you know what we think!
