COSMO Restaurant is opening in York on June 28th 2014.
It is opening by the river where the old Argos store used to be – 19 Bridge Street.
I’m excited about this one as it sounds like something a bit different. They call themselves ‘casual dining’ with an eat as much as you like buffet type experience.
At £8.49 for lunch and £13.99 for dinner it definitely sounds like good value.
I do tend to avoid buffets though. I’ve seen one too many rows of sorry looking sweet and sour gloopifying under a light bulb.
COSMO promises to be something entirely different to this however, with a huge choice of food prepared freshly before your eyes on grills and hot plates at 8 live cooking stations.
The COSMO restaurant in York will offer more than 150 dishes from countries including Mexico, China, Brazil, Italy, Thailand, Vietnam and Korea.
Among the specialities on offer will be a Brazilian barbecue, where customers can enjoy a festival of South American flavours, a Japanese teppanyaki and robata grill, twin tandoori ovens and a double chocolate fountain.
For a look at the full menu visit the COSMO website.
We unfortunately couldn’t take COSMO up on their invite to take a look around the restaurant but COSMO restaurants are noted for their interior design, which is influenced by five-star hotels in the Far East and includes luxuriously soft seating, marble surfaces, natural stone counters and private dining booths so you can bet it’ll be stunning.
If you’re in town on June 28th look out for the restaurant’s opening celebrations with a city carnival planned including an Indian tuk tuk, Japanese geisha girl stilt walkers and a Brazilian Samba band!
We’re definitely looking forward to going and trying York’s COSMO restaurant out as soon as we can (especially the 8m of cabinets 8m devoted solely to desserts and pastry!)
Let us know what you think if you get there first!
