Phil Matheson will give a fascinating talk on JRR Tolkien’s time in Yorkshire convalescing from ‘swamp fever’ caught in the First World War trenches.

The Tolkien triangle – Hull, Hornsea and Kilnsea gave Tolkien his inspiration and ideas for places in his books ranging from The Silmarilion and Lord of the Rings to the Elvish Language of ‘Goldogrin’.
