Playhouse Creatures, University of York
The puppeteers’ strings are tautening….

Playhouse Creatures is a TFTV Final Year Productions performance of April De Angelis’s play which runs from 26th – 29th November in the Department of Theatre, Film and Television. Don’t miss one of the last opportunities to see this group in collaboration!

Playhouse Creatures

The stage is set for the first female actors as they pursue a world of enchantment and desire. But things are never as they seem behind the scenes… the beasts are on the prowl. Throughout history there have been significant moments which have shaped the world in which we live today.

April De Angelis’s Playhouse Creatures marks such a moment; a defining chapter in which female actors took to the stage for the very first time. From curtain up to curtain down they enthralled audiences with their opulence and glamour. But beyond the curtain, was life really so rosy? The puppeteers’ strings are tautening, and the women must fight to avoid getting played…
