York Food Festival 2016

York Food Festival 2016

When? – 23rd Sept – 2nd October 2016

Highlights this year include Skosh at the guildhall, tons of cookery classes and demos including a curry demo from Rafi’s Spicebox and all your local York restaurants, restaurant offers, drinks tasting events, local music, markets and much more.

For a full outline of what’s on and to buy tickets visit the York Food Festival website or just head into town next weekend and see whats going on.

York’s Ale Trail will be back again as will the Taste Trail.

Ale Trail

The festival Ale Trail is a taste of York’s Real Ale pubs. The trail begins in the festival’s own Real Ale tent, hosted by Premier Event Bars, and takes you on a walking tour around a selection of York’s pubs. Have your Ale Trail booklet stamped at twelve of the participating venues when you buy a pint or half pint of Real Ale. Collect twelve stamps and return to the festival Real Ale tent to receive a commemorative t-shirt! (While stocks last.)

I have tried about 4 times and am yet to manage to get my hands on one of these t-shirts. From personal experience I think the trick to the ale trail is planning your route – don’t leave too much walking distance between stops at the end and make sure you visit the ‘posher’ places towards the start!
